Aug 12, 2016 – Friday, August 12, 2016 found a group of UNITED FLYING OCTOGENARIANS seated around two long tables at Dale Etherington’s airport, Glenndale 8I3, feasting on fried chicken and an awesome array of other foods prepared by local (and excellent) cooks! The room was filled with fellowship, conversation, and shared enjoyment in the delicious food. Attending besides Dale and his wife and daughter were Charlie Holleman and George Palmer from West Lafayette, Jim Campbell from Carmel, Ralph Jeffers from Peru, Bob Plattner (who has never missed a meeting) from Fort Wayne, Gene and Barbara McCauley from Kokomo, Jim and Ginger Wright from Kokomo, George Robbins and pilot daughter Karen James from Seymour, and Nancy Warren from Columbus.

Following lunch everyone was transported to Grissom Air Force Base to spend some time in their museum and to walk outside among the aircraft on static display; aircraft which evoked many memories for some of our UFO members.

What a wonderful day and a terrific way to be with aviation friends!
