Aug 29, 2018 – Wow – Two Texas UFO meetings in one month! Way to go Texas! Following a very successful regional meeting down in Victoria, nine loyal North Texas members got together on August 29 at the Radial Cafe located in the terminal building of Grand Prairie Municipal (KGPM) to share lunch and renew acquaintances. We hadn’t assembled as a group since last December, so we had a lot of catching up to do.
There were three presenters who offered up a variety of aviation topics. First, Max Bolen told us all about his trip to the recently concluded AirVenture fly-in in Oshkosh, WI. (He served as a volunteer this year.) Then Dick Williams, a recent recipient of the Wright Brothers Master Pilot Award, told us all about the procedure in applying for this prestigious award. (That’s Dick in front of his beautiful Beechcraft Sierra–the only “fly-in” aircraft at our meeting.) Finally, Jim Cavender, the Area Representative for North Texas, brought a selection of reading material which has been published by UFO members along with a recommended bibliography. The food was great, the hangar talk was non-stop, and the camaraderie was palpable.
And just for the record – This edition of ROUNDUP was number 17! And we’re already in the planning stages for number 18. Stay tuned.
