Oct 10, 2019 – Due to fire concerns, the day began with uncertainty. Annie Orton woke up after the third day of a regional power outage, not knowing if the meeting would even happen.

Fortunately the Redding Airport utilizes solar power so it was able to host the meeting. Four airplanes flew in and a total of eleven members and three guests attended. Our speaker, Dr Harry Wander, gave an excellent presentation about medical issues for pilots, including which medications should and should not be taken by pilots when flying.

Three of our members have reached their 90th birthdays, telling us how they celebrated. One of the 90-year-old members, Dale Lakers, totally loved a tandem parachute jump. Unfortunately, several members were unable to attend due to fire danger but those who attended, enjoyed the meeting.
